The Barony Of Red Spears is located in northwest Ohio, and is a part of the Middle Kingdom (Midrealm).
There are weekly meetings in several areas, as well as many annual events. Local weekly meetings are free and open to attend.

Hosted in early summer, this annual event attracts hundreds of people each year!		POUNCE
This is an autumn event and starts our annual champions selection!
Heavy fighting champions are sometimes selected at this event.		YULE FEAST
Join us for our annual winter celebration and renown feast.
This event offers a lot of
Arts & Sciences classes.
Rapier and A&S champions are selected at this event.
  1. We are the Northwest Ohio branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, commonly called the SCA. We consist of five cantons (or groups) that meet at various times and locations. Check out the Join Us! link above to learn more about those times and locations.
  2. The SCA is a non-profit organization whose members enjoy the experience of creatively reenacting history from throughout Europe and various parts of Asia before 1600a.d.
  3. The activities recreated are extensive. Some of them include but are not limited to: Combat with rattan (a type of wood) and rapier style swords, archery, dance, sewing our own clothing, cooking, weaving, and the study of various other arts and sciences. The list of activities members of the SCA can get involved in is so extensive it usually is easier to visit a local meeting and see what interests you.
  4. There is no age requirement to be a member of the SCA. We have a variety of activities geared toward youth. However, some activities do require a parent or legal guardian be present to participate. Also some activities require special safely equipment. Don’t let that discourage you though, we have that stuff available to loan out during our meeting times. That way you can try it out and see what you think with no commitment.
